How do I become "smarter" in order to be prepared for University/Medical School?

Hi, I’ve recently been introduced to the world of Medicine and have a high interest in becoming an MD.

I understand in order to make this dream a reality, you must put in hard work and dedication. I’m willing to offer both of these keys to my goal but I also need some aid in getting through this long process.

I’m currently in my first year of high school and pretty soon its going to be my second. Before I even think about becoming a doctor, I need the grades to get accepted into University and later on Medical School, this is where I need help. I plan on taking some Academic (honor classes) biology/chemistry/physics and also the manditory math courses during grade 11 and 12. But for the remainder of this year and the next, I need to prepare myself for the long hours and hard work needed.

Sorry about the run on paragraphs but basically, my question is: what can I do to make myself "smarter" or become prepared for my dream as a medical doctor?

To become "smarter" for University/Medical school, I would advise you to break any bad habits, such as procrastinate, and learn proper time management and study skills. Also, don’t just limit your learning to when you’re taking a course. Try to learn during your free time, summer vacation, by accessing different resources.
