Gallbladder Removal Surgery due to Gallstones

http://www.nucleusinc.com This 3D medical animation shows minimally invasive gallbladder removal surgery, or cholecystectomy, using a laparoscope. The animation begins by showing the normal anatomy of the liver and gallbladder. Over time, gallstones form within the gallbladder, blocking the cystic duct, and causing the gallbladder to become enlarged and inflamed. The procedure, sometimes called a “lap-chole”, begins with the insertion of four trocar devices, which allow the physician to see inside the abdomen without making a large incision. Air is added to the abdominal cavity to make it easier to see the gall bladder. Next, we see a view through the laparascope, showing two surgical instruments grasping the gallbladder while a third severs the cystic duct. After the gallbladder is removed, the camera pans around to show that the cystic artery and vein, have already been clipped to prevent bleeding. ANCE00181

    Not gonna lie… It hurts.
    I had big stones according to my doctor and lots of them too… not only that but mine was infected and burst on the operating table causing me to feel bad for a couple days afterwards. I laid in bed and watched t.v for a week before I returned to school. I have five incisions. Sitting up, laughing and coughing hurts. By the fourth day after you should start feeling much better. Over all I’m glad I had it done, I felt sick a lot now I feel much better(: good luck.

    @allierzeznik95 …
    @allierzeznik95 Getting it removed nowadays is better, for when I had mine done, I had too many for a lap. It wasn’t caught by my doc and I developed peritonitis & gangrene, and could have died. So, with that being said, a lap for this is good, vs. the alternative!
