What grades are needed to get into oxford medical university?

I want to know what subject i should take to get into Oxford university. I want to be a doctor.

How many As are needed and in what subjects?

What other info i need to kno about?

thnx in advance

First of all, please completely ignore the answer above. Judging by what he is talking about he is clearly American and they have a very different system to us!

To be a doctor in this country you will need to go to university and study, unsurprisingly, medicine. To study medicine you must have A levels in biology and chemistry. The remaining A levels you take could feasibly be anything, but as medicine is very competitive to get into I would recommend taking subjects that complement biology and chemistry, such as maths or physics. To get into Oxford you will almost certainly need straight As at A level and they will also like to see very good GCSE results too. Also, from what I can remember of my friends who studied medicine, they like to see some form of work experience in the medical field too.

What courses are you taking in college right now? Just to let you know, in case you’re not in college, you have to go through 4 years of pre-med college before you can go to med school. While in college, you can declare any major you want, but you need to take Biology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Physics and it’s recommended that you also take Mammalian Physiology and Cell Biology. If you plan on getting into oxford, you’ll need at least a 3.8 GPA or higher. Score well on your MCAT’s, and do volunteer hours in the medical field.

Edit: Sorry, as SJM pointed out, I’m from America and have a different system. I guess I wasn’t thinking and completely forgot that Oxford isn’t even in the U.S.
