Medical university…?
Basically I have been reading other questions and the answers vary quite abit about the importance of GCSE grades when applying for a medical course a uni, so are these good enough?

A lot of the people who answer on here don’t actually know anything about applying to medicine, which is why you’ll find loads of people saying that GCSEs don’t matter and uni’s only look at A levels. Whilst this is the case for most degree courses, medicine is so competitive that uni’s need to use some other method of identifying the best applicants. The extent to which GCSEs matter does vary though – the list I provided you with should give you some idea of which uni’s attach the most importance to them, though the actual requirements are for 2009 so might be outdated by the time you apply. Your GCSEs are fine for most uni’s – only Birmingham would reject you outright. However you may want to avoid applying to those, like Edinburgh, Oxford, or Cambridge, which state that their average applicant has grades higher than yours. That still leaves you with loads of options – your GCSE grades are still really good, and with work experience etc you still have as good a chance as anyone else to get into med school. Good luck! They are fine. Just ensure your get straight A’s for your A-levels and volunteer at your local hospital to strengthen your application. Good luck doc!
