YouTube Medical School (?be a) Professor of Surgery. Forget it.Academic Surgery

(so you want to be a ) Professor of Surgery. Go into Academic Surgery. Means a big loss of income and endless frustrations.I say NO(here’s why). You can teach, write books & papers as well as research from private practice (even get to be called Professor). Too many med schools now are being run as a family business with part-time GPs ( who are looking for a way out of GP) and who ( from their cv) can be seen to have no real commitment to med education. The “house-wife” med schools feel threatened by surgeons &l will scheme to make your life a misery.
