What would medical schools think if I majored in Hotel and Tourism Management?

Medical schools always say that they don’t care what you majore in. But what if I major in something as eccentric as hotel and tourism management?

It would look a little peculiar if you did that and applied directly to medical school, but if you majored in one thing, then spent some time working, took the courses you needed for the MCATs, and then applied, you might do okay. They do allow people to change direction in their lives.

  2. They actually do care what you major in. It will only benefit you to have a related undergraduate degree instead of something completely unrelated such as Hotel & Tourism Management. Having a Science major will get you in the mind set of med school. It’s strongly recommended to have a Science background before apply to med school.

  3. You can apply to Caribbeans or other countries where you can do premed and med school in 6 years or just med school in 4 years. Admission is easier, and you would be no different than someone who graduates from US. I am a American citizen who went to Poland for medical school. I will be applying for residency this September. Look into this website. It has a good list of Medical programs and admission requirement. good luck.
