What are specific medical schools that put emphasis on extracurricular activities?
I read in several places there are many medical schools that look less at grades and instead are more focused on the "well-rounded" applicant (i.e. — someone that has significant experience in the health field but maybe not as high of a GPA). None of these websites, however, listed any of these schools! Does anyone know the names of specific medical school that view applicants this way? Help!
Not any reputable medical schools that I know of. "Good" medical schools and grad schools don’t care about your extracurricular activities, but instead grades, GPA, and GAT/GRE/MCAT scores. Having a job during your college years will help in acceptance perhaps. Unless your extracurricular activities were the ordinary, unspecial ones like campus ministry, Choral groups, Concert band, Frats/sororities, Musical theater, student government, Student newspaper, etc. they don’t matter.
