Honestly…if she has the chance to go to Harvard I say do it!!! It’s more the prestige than anything else though, whether you go to Harvard or Stanford, they’re both great medical schools TheHun914.

I never said you can’t study medicine if you don’t get good grades in high school Manequin01, but if you want to be given the chance and be taken seriously by a top notch undergrad University and more so in grad school for Medical school…then you need really good grades!!! Remember you’re not the only one who wants to be a doctor, competition everywhere is high!!! So honestly my advice and what you can do…GIVE IT ALL YOU GOT!!! Hard work pays off in the end…laziness or slacking off doesnt!

hey you sound like me haha one tip of advice most colleges look at your GPA more than they do your honors/AP courses. i have a 3.5, i’m excited about my junior classes i plan on taking 2 sciences(i’m trying to cover as much sci. as possible) one of which is going to be an honors. so try to work on keeping your GPA up, but go for those AP/honors if you know you can do both

obviously were fm cali and i want her to study at stanford med school but she wants to go to harvard. is there any difference? i know that harvard is an ivy league institution but TFcostwise, relatively the same.

your GPA in College and our AP scores are what you need to be focussed on…they do not focus on high school grades.

I’m a sophomore and I want to be a doctor. Deciding between becoming a Pediatrician or a General Practitioner. I’m going into all honors and AP next year, so I’m excited. 4.0 GPA without honors classes. I go to a military academy for high school. I’m also going to be volunteering at a hospital and I’m going to become a reading mentor at this elementary school. I have a job, too. I really hope I can get into a good school. I’m looking at UF or UCF. I’d kill to get into Harvard or any Ivy League.

you must have to be superhuman to organize/complete all of those courses. I’ve been taking 2-3 classes a semester getting 100% in each; for ex. micro, a&p. Do I even stand a chance in med school? how do you find out if you have what it takes?
