What is the difference between Medical School and Graduate School?

While doing a bit of research on this topic, I found a couple of doctors who, in their full profiles, had Medical School and Graduate School listed as different areas of study.

Does anyone know why this is?
Thanks!

Some docs do graduate school before or after medical school. Medical school is post-graduate education in medicine only. Graduate school is post-graduate education in just about anything.

  2. Medical school is a type of professional schools (other types are vet, dentist, optometry, law, etc) that trains you for a specific profession and licensing exam. Graduate school teaches you advanced coursework in your field and how to do research, and can be applied to many types of work that don’t require licensing exams (teaching college, research and development, etc). A MD lets you treat patients, a PhD lets you do research.
