Edit (25/9/08) – I’m getting tired of the ‘what’s the difference’ and ‘there is no difference’ remarks regarding Endings 2 and 3. Anyone with eyes can see that they are visually identical, however (as stated in the video between 2 and 3) there is a difference in the tone of narration, 2 is angry while 3 is sad. Anyone who is not deaf or does not have broken speakers should be able to pick up on this, otherwise you’re lost! Ok fine this is a small difference and the game writers could have probably put in more effort to distinguish them more. Nevertheless they are still different endings in their own right because they have been achieved by playing Bioshock in a different way. If you get the sad ending (Ending 3) then you saved some little sisters but probably killed a few out of curiosity, so the narrator is sad that you gave in to temptation. But if you get the angry voice ending (Ending 2) you have probably rampaged your way through the game killing every little sister you came across with a big smile on your face as you plan which plasmid you’ll get next, so the narrator is angry that you have been so selfish and greedy.

Is there an alternative to buying 40cm squared pots to put my plants in?

Is there a cheap alternative to replace having to buy 40cm diameter, 40cm high pots for gardening?
And I’m not wanting to plant them in the ground.

you could buy a couple of really long pots, like 1.2 metres long, 40cm high.
but i dont know if that is cheaper

What is the name of this alternative source of energy called?

I recall hearing of some source of alternative energy that was based on the motion of the waves. Basically, the waves provided the energy(no giant turbines) and these things functioned like wind mills of the sea. Everything else was blah blah. The inventor of this ingenious device was some high school or college student, I think.
Whatever it is, just tell me the name of the inventor, the name of the thing he/she made, and how it works. I may have placed this question in the wrong place because there really isn’t enough about alternative energy to devote a link to. Remember, inventor, invention and how it works.

The abstract/discription is:

The invention is an improvement in the economical generation of energy by providing a system for utilizing the wave action of bodies of water, such as ocean waves.^The system consists of a pair of floating units, each separately connected to a shaft member by a connecting arm, a ratchet-like gear affixed to the shaft member is indexed forward alternately or concurrently by spring loaded pawls affixed to each of the connecting arms from the floating units to the shaft members.^The wave action alternately raising and lowering the floating units concurrently turns the ratchet-like gear through the action of the pawls.^Thus, the turning shaft, properly geared can turn an electric generator, air compressor, or other device of generating another form of energy which can be used or stored for future use.

What is an alternative method of conducting the Loftus and Palmer (eyewitness testimony) experiment?

This is for AS Psychology.
Core Studies. Methodology, section B.
Since the Loftus and Palmer eyewitness testimony study is an experiment that uses films of staged car crashes and two sets of questionnaires, I was wondering what another way of doing this study would be and what effects this alternative approach would have on the study.

I am unsure how to make the study into a case study or an observation, and the details of such.

The key to this study was the changed perception of the film because of the wording of the questionnaires. like using the word hit, bashed and bumped.
You need to find a way to put this into an observation, perhaps by getting two or 3 small groups and asking them outright questions:
E.g. do you feel the red car was going fast when it bumped/hit/bashed the other car
Then allow them to discuss and take notes
It would change from a lab experement because people could drift off subject but it might reduce demand characteristics as people are likely to become less bored with a discussion than a questionnaire. This increases ecological validity. However you could also mention there would be a problem still with the real life aspect of the study.

What is an alternative to using sour cream in a chocolate cake recipe?

I’m planning on baking a fudge chocolate cake this afternoon and need to know an alternative to using sour cream in the recipe. Please keep in mind I am baking for someone who is lactose intolerant and can’t eat creams, eggs, cream sauces, yogurt, etc. Any ideas is greatly appreciated. =) Thank you.

I am a former chef from canada and it is possible to leave it out, I would use a bit more cocoa or melted dark chocolate, the sour cream just is used to activate the leavening agents, and for a lactose intolerent person then use the chocolate product, I do not like applesauce it doe leave a bit of a after taste, strained prunes make it nice even date puree.
