Is there an alternative for gingerbread when making gingerbread houses?
I’m plan on making a gingerbread house for the first time this year…problem is…I don’t really like gingerbread but I do want to make a cookie house. Does anyone know of an alternative for gingerbread?
Are there kits you can buy that aren’t gingerbread?
Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated.
I don’t know of any kits that aren’t gingerbread, but you could use grahm crackers. Or just make sugar cookies in the shapes of gingerbread house panels. Just be extra careful. Have fun~
you can use cinnamon graham crackers!!

I havent seen any non-gingerbread kits…but I heard you can use sugar cookie recipes or actually any flat rolled out cookie dough that isnt going to plump up when baked. They also say to leave the leavening out of the recipes so they dont rise.
I also read that there are many people who dont even eat their gingerbread house, they just have it as decoraton, so you can still make one, and not eat it…

To state the bleedin’ obvious, if you don’t use gingerbread, then it won’t be a (wait for it) Gingerbread house! If you are going to mess with tradition, then use any cake flavour you like.
